Develop a Thriving Economy
Tim believes the immediate need for jobs is just a first step. New strategies must be developed to recruit new industry to SC. Please click on the “Thriving Economy” tab to read about Tim’s involvement in bringing the Boeing Plant to Charleston as well as his other job development experience.
While on County Council, Tim helped recruit over 20,122 jobs either as Chairman of Charleston County’s Council or as Chair of the Economic Development Committee.
Tim wants every aspect of the educational system to be critiqued to ensure every student is receiving the education needed to compete in the global marketplace.
Tim understands that every time government collects a dollar from a citizen, it is one less dollar in their pockets and in our economy. Low tax rates allow the miracle of free enterprise to thrive and its people to prosper.
Stop Out-of-Control Spending
Tim believes it is past time to reform many of the ways government operates, to root out waste and duplication and to end frivolous “pork” spending.
More than once, as an elected official, Tim has reduced spending over a prior year’s budget. Far more difficult than simply holding the line is actually REDUCING the size of a budget. Tim will continue to work to do this as your 1st District Representative!
Protect our Tenth Amendment Rights
Tim will speak out boldly and will stand up to the federal government when it intrudes on the rights of SC! South Carolinians should control the policies of SC. This is important because every time federal officials ignore their constitutional limits with restrictive new mandates, the freedom of the citizens is eroded.
