This week, House Democrats are looking to force legislation for government-run healthcare in Congress. What does that mean for American citizens?
• A one-size-fits-all plan that will cause healthcare costs to sky-rocket and long waiting times for patients.
• Government bureaucrats will make decisions about which doctor a person can see and what treatment they will or will not receive.
• Citizens will be penalized for not signing up for a government-run healthcare program.
As Americans, we cannot let our freedoms continue to be eroded. This is why I pre-filed legislation in November of 2009 in the South Carolina State House to protect the rights of South Carolinians in the event that government-run healthcare passes Congress.
This legislation…
• protects our rights to enroll in a healthcare program of our choosing.
• protects the doctor-patient relationship.
• keeps healthcare costs from dramatically increasing.
In February, I signed the Club for Growth’s “Repeal It!” pledge. This is a commitment to protect the American people from any federal health care takeover and to introduce legislation that brings real reform to health care and lowers costs without growing government.
If you agree with me that Washington D.C. Democrats should not steal our freedom by giving themselves the power to decide who our physicians will be, dictate the type of treatment we should receive and penalize us for not using their big-government solutions, please join me.
